"Lucy's Bones"
When I thought of this, I thought of Africa as the source of humanity, and the fossils that inform paleontology, especially Lucy. I thought at first of using images of the bones, then while playing around with an apple core template thought about how much they remind me of bones.
I'm glad I stopped at six pieces for the background! I love the look of the apple cores stitched together, but they're a real pain. It's all hand stitched - raw edge.
Hi Michele,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful concept! The apple core really does look like bones. Wow, what a lot of work. Kudos to you for handstitching!
Cheryl
Michele I love the idea of the apple core and yes they do look like bones. A lot of work hand stitching them all.
ReplyDeleteWell done.

ReplyDeleteVery nice Michele! I agree the apple cores are a real pain to stitch,LOL.
ReplyDeleteWay cool! I did a small wall hanging in 18 small wool apple cores, by hand, so for sure understand the work involved!
